Wk 10 artist interview: Audra Graziano

Audra is working on her MFA in drawing and painting here at CSULB. She got her bachelor’s degree in New York City at the Pratt Institution. She is 33 and cannot remember a time in her life when she wasn’t an artist. For 10 years she managed a miral company and then decided to come to California on an offer to draw backgrounds for some commercials and shows such as Tosh.0. These gallery of hers is her thesis expedition to graduate. At first it represented the wiring of technology and how intricate it is. But now, she feels it represents our own nervous systems that are also complex. First, she glazed the main bright colors onto the canvas and then glossed it and lastly used oil pastels. She teaches a color theory class here and dreams of teaching after she receives her master’s degree. I enjoy this art because I love abstract. I like how she used one main color in each piece to make the piece pop out.
